Thompson Flanagan is looking for a detail-oriented, enthusiastic, client-service minded professional to develop a newly created position. This position is responsible for claims processing and claims advocacy services for commercial insurance clients. This position will act as an advocate for clients throughout the life cycle of a claim as well as offer internal services to broker teams to enhance and expand Thompson Flanagan’s claims services.


 Proactively manage claims process for assigned clients (including processing new claims, inputting claims into tracking system, and promptly reporting claims to insurance carriers).
 Review claims, gather requested additional information, facilitate communication between client and insurance carrier claims departments, monitor claims status, and identify adverse
claims developments.
 Prepare claim reviews for assigned clients as directed, identify loss/reserve amount trends and claim developments to formulate recommendations to clients or colleagues based on loss experience.
 Negotiate for claim closure, changes in reserves, and generally advocate for best possible outcome for clients as appropriate.
 Regularly communicate with clients and colleagues regarding claim status and attend meetings with clients and prospects as directed.
 Obtain loss runs from insurance companies and prepare claim summaries for account submissions.

 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn and implement other programs quickly and efficiently.
 Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to screen details and identify potential discrepancies.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional telephone etiquette.
 Strong problem-solving skills.


 Bachelor’s degree preferred.
 Minimum of 1 to 3 years of insurance industry experience preferred.
 Prior experience in a customer service or administrative role is required.
 Client must have Illinois Property & Casualty License or the ability to obtain license within 60 days.
